You will grow old
under this roof
in this house
on the outskirts
of a seaside village;
the ocean will only
know you briefly
as will the citizens
who all say HELLO
at morning coffee
The trees and forests
in nearby mountains
will grow unknowingly
and the world will
not necessarily be
a better or worse
place without you.
